Arm Balance & Inversion Workshop With Nicole Doherty

We are fascinated with the winged ones in the sky. In a yoga practice we aim to emulate their agility and grace in the arm balances named after them. In this workshop, we will bring our awareness to our center to create the balance and stability required to take flight.

The blueprint of most arm balances is Chaturanga, so we will break down the yogic pushup in detail to understand the architecture of more advanced poses. We will then construct common arm balances such as Crow, Twisting Crow, Flying Pigeon and inversions such as Pincha Mayurasana with more awareness.

You can’t fly a plane in one day, so don’t be intimidated. It’s all about learning the basic structure, where to bear weight and letting go of your fears.

Requirements:

Foundational understanding of yoga postures and sun salutes. Props, variations and modifications will be offered to suit most levels. You are not required to have an arm balance practice to attend.
